Disciplinary Proceedings

The School Discipline Committee is constituted for the maintenance of discipline in the school. The committee will ensure that students obey rules and remain orderly and peaceful in the pursuant of educational objectives/goals in the school community.

  • To avoid physical confrontation among students.
  • To conduct inquiries on reports of interdisciplinary activities among students.
  • To initiate model actions against students involved in interdisciplinary activities.
  • To initiate steps to reduce violence and confrontation in future.

Responsibilities of Discipline Committee and Students

  • To maintain and enforce strict discipline within the school campus.
  • All students should wear their ID Cards while they are in the campus and their respective classrooms.
  • In case of any violation of dress code or disturbance in class, the ID card will be confiscated and returned on the same day with a warning from the committee.
  • In case of misbehavior or violation of rules, the ID cards will be held until enquiry is completed.
  • Total prohibition of cell phone usage by the students within the school campus. Confiscated phones will be handed over to the Principal.
  • To prevent students from loitering in corridors during school hours.
  • No student can leave school early without prior permission.
  • Tobacco/Smoking is strictly prohibited in the campus. Strict action will be taken if violated.
  • Ensure complete silence in the library.
  • Maintain proper discipline in the terrace canteen during recess.
  • Damage to school property must be compensated for by the student(s) responsible, with additional fines.
  • Warn students at the first instance of indiscipline; further action will follow committee rules.
  • Assist the school anti-ragging committee and spread awareness against ragging.

Specific Behavioural Guidelines

  • Students must not enter the classroom without uniform.
  • Students must not enter classrooms after school starts.
  • Students must not enter classrooms during breaks.
  • Cellular phones are strictly prohibited. Students may contact parents through class coordinators for urgent calls.
  • No student may leave the classroom without permission.
  • After breaks, students must go directly to their classrooms.
  • If the teacher is absent or late, students must wait inside the classroom.
  • Resting, napping or sleeping is not allowed inside the classroom.
  • Homework must be completed on time.
  • Dangerous or harmful objects are not allowed.
  • No throwing objects around the school.
  • Respect others’ feelings—no teasing, name-calling, swearing, etc.
  • Respect others’ personal space—no fighting, bullying, threats, harassment, etc.
  • Respect others’ property—no theft or vandalism.
  • Keep the school clean as you would your home.
  • Throw rubbish in the bin and keep your surroundings clean.

Classroom Rules

  • Arrive on time with necessary equipment.
  • Listen without interrupting.
  • Complete all assignments on time.
  • Treat teachers and classmates with respect.
  • Keep hands and feet to yourself.
  • Respect school property.
  • Respect the rights and property of others.
  • Act safely and responsibly.

Dress Code

  • Girls should keep their hair neatly tied.
  • Chains are not permitted.
  • Short trousers are not permitted.
  • No jewellery, especially hanging earrings.
  • Boys must keep their pants properly up with belts if needed; pants must not drag on the ground. Undershirts must be tucked in.

Mobile Policy

  • Mobile phones are prohibited within school premises.
  • Parents should discourage children from bringing phones to school.
  • If a student is found using a phone, it will be confiscated.
  • Students may use school telephones only in emergencies with permission from the class coordinator.
